20th International and 9th Americas Conference of the ISTVS
ISTVS 2021 | September 27-29, 2021 | online
This is a conference site archive.
Our international conferences form an amazing legacy since our first meeting in 1962 in Turin, Italy — International Society for Terrain-Vehicle Systems (ISTVS) today is a connected group of collaborative professionals from industry, universities, and research institutions who have been meeting over five decades to share research findings.
The 20th International and 9th Americas Conference gives you the opportunity to exchange ideas and technical information on current and future research and technology developments in terramechanics and terrain/road-vehicle system dynamics, control, design, vetronics, autonomous vehicle systems and Industry 4.0.
The conference will be fully online this year. While we will miss our long-standing tradition of an in-person technical tour, we are looking forward to the new opportunities for strengthening ties between a broader range of colleagues in our very international community than our in-person meetings allowed. The conference platform will give you a chance to participate in live keynote presentations and conference sessions, view self-guided poster sessions, and time for chances to meet on the platform with other attendees. #ISTVS2021
2021-09-23 Conference Update
Dear Conference Presenters and Attendees,
Our conference begins next Monday, September 27. The detailed conference program will be available soon. Conference Program Overview
The online nature and special circumstances require that we depart from the framework that would be usual for our in-person conferences. We will have 3 hours of live sessions each day of the conference from 10:00 to 13:00 EDT. The program includes live plenary presentations and technical sessions.
The conference contributions with prerecorded presentations will be grouped into technical sessions. Each technical session will be 20-25 minute long and will include 4-6 conference contributions. In the beginning of a session, each presenter will be asked to summarize his/her paper in a brief 2-minute presentation, which will then be followed by questions, answers, and discussion.
Presenters — If you are a presenter, please prepare for this 2-minute presentation. No slides, just a verbal summary of the main points of your paper.
For all attendees, we emphasize that it is essential to watch the prerecorded presentations before the conference. The videos have been posted to an online video repository: Video Repository Conference registerees have been sent the access password by email; please email hello@istvs.org if you didn’t receive that email and we’ll get you access.

For all our conference participants, please review this summary help document before the conference or if you have any technical issues during the conference: ISTVS 2021 Hopin Instructions
We look forward to meeting with you all online at the conference next week.
Best regards, Jozsef Kovecses and Massimo Martelli Conference Co-Chairs
